#1407 "Cherokee Bird Clan" Greeting Card
on the inside upper portion of the card:
The bird clan is one of the seven clans of the Cherokee Nation. Due to their ability to fly, birds were associated with heaven or the "Upper World". The color red in the background was the most sacred color to the Cherokees. It represented the East, the sun, fire, blood and success.
Over there in the sky they have taken pity on me.
The sky loves to hear me.
